The rotunda, ceremonial room of the dungeon, opens with its unique architecture and its historical functionality a dialogue between interior and exterior. It's punctuated by the succession of arches of the helical vault and the entrance of light in its center by the zenithal oculus of the dome.
This serie of paintings was created from the dialogue between the closed mineral space and that open to the infinity of the sky that surrounds us.
This thread of inspiration, which is at the core of my creative process, allowed me here to approach a first global exterior landscape where light and color attempt to express the various evocations of blue, in its lightness and its depth, its opacity and all its transparency, and then declined in another set of landscapes, like a fragmented vision which opens and reads following the successive rhythm of the stone arches.
Beyond this observed space, threads are stretched between the air, its lightness, its fluidity, and its resonance with the earth, the mineral and the water. They thus come to reveal still other fragments within these fragments of landscapes.
Spaces that meet and then talk to each other, can mix, even merge and lose us in other unknown territories.
